1. Definitions

"Donors Arena", "we", "us" and "our" means the Donors Arena crowdfunding platform operated from Nairobi, Kenya.

"Organiser" means a registered user who creates a campaign. "Donor" means any person who contributes funds to a campaign. "Campaign" means a fundraising appeal published on the platform.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or withdraw funds. Minors may only participate with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information in your account and profile, for keeping your credentials secure, and for all activity carried out under your account.

3. Campaign rules

Organisers must describe the beneficiary, the need and the intended use of funds truthfully. All photos and documents must be owned or used with permission.

Campaigns are reviewed before publication and may be rejected, suspended or removed if they breach these terms, our Fundraising Guidelines, or applicable Kenyan law.

Prohibited uses include political campaign financing, gambling, lending or investment schemes, and any trade in prohibited goods or services.

4. Donations

Donations are voluntary gifts and are not investments, loans or purchases. Donors do not acquire any ownership or entitlement in the campaign or its outcome.

Donations are recorded with a payment reference and receipt. Donors may choose to give anonymously; in that case the donor name is withheld from public pages.

5. Fees

A one-time organiser activation fee (currently KES 500) applies before withdrawals are enabled on an account.

A platform fee (currently 10%) is deducted from each approved withdrawal. Donors are not charged a platform fee on donations. Fee amounts may change; the current values are shown on the How It Works page.

6. Withdrawals

Withdrawals require review and approval by Donors Arena before payout. Payouts are sent to the verified M-Pesa or bank destination recorded by the organiser.

Funds must be used for the purpose stated in the campaign. Misuse may result in suspension, clawback attempts and referral to authorities.

7. Prohibited conduct

You may not misrepresent identity or need, use another person's documents or photos without consent, run duplicate or fraudulent campaigns, interfere with platform security, or scrape or resell platform data.

8. Liability

Donors Arena provides the platform and payment facilitation and relies on information supplied by organisers. We are not liable for the truthfulness of organiser statements beyond the verification steps described on the Trust & Safety page, nor for outcomes of medical, educational or other events.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability to any user is limited to the fees that user paid to us in the six months preceding the claim.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Kenya. Disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Kenya.
